A TRUE TROPICAL PARADISE

We visited Malaysia during May 1999. An experience of a life time. A must for all, though children under 12yrs would find it hard going when Jungle trekking. Our adventure took us to the following destinations.

KOTAKINABALU (KK)- The capital state of Sabah

A LIVELY CITY - Begin with a city tour taking you to Signal Hill. Climb Mount kinabalu 4,101 meters (13,455 feet)Or simply look at it as we did. Visit Kinabalu Park, experience the night markets, check out the water villages, and cruise to offshore islands. Take a river boat adventure into the rain forest in search of the Proboscis Monkey. We can't single out any restaurant, they are all excellent but don't leave without experiencing The Kampung Malayan Floating Restaurant and enjoy their Cultural dancing shows performed nightly on a floating stage with traditional Malay architecture.

SANDAKAN- Gateway to Borneo's wildlife

Stay at the Renaissance Hotel. A day at Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. Explore Turtle Island park, visit the Crocodile farms and the Gomantong Caves.

KUCHING- Capital of Sarawak

Stay at the Damai Beach Resort. Take the Kuching/Skrang River Safari. Visit Sarawak cultural Village, Take a Bidayuh Longhouse tour and A Rafflesia Tour. and don't forget a Sarawak Jungle Escapade. Visit fascinating Chinese temples. Bako National Park is a must too.

Watch the sun go down at Oasis, Pantai Cenang. beautiful with its tribal motifs. Take a day trip to Pulau Payar, Malaysia's first marine park. A high-speed catamaran leaves Kuah daily for this uninhabited island which is famed for its coral gardens. OR simply lay in the sun or shade and relax with your cocktail!
