THE MINES WONDERLAND

| Built around a former mining-pool. Attractions include
a small zoo, a stunning water screen laser show, combining synchronized
water, light, laser, and sound.. A musical fountain, a combination of
technology and art to create dancing and swaying water movements to
the beat of music. The major attraction is the Snow House (10,000 sq
ft, with temperatures between -10°C to -15°C) Warm coats are
provided for entry but no gloves, so my hands were freezing after some
snowball throwing!, falling snow everwhere, coloured bulbs light up
ice carvings of penguins, snow goose, reindeer, and landmarks of past
Commonwealth countries such as Sydney Open House, Tower Bridge and Big
Ben. Pathways lead from one setting to another. Visit in the evening
when creative lighting makes it a magical wonderland. You can't miss
the lakeside display of brightly-lit motorized creatures that glide
on water in procession. We were fortunate to see the terracotta warrirors
who were in Malaysia for part of their worldwide tour. A great evening
out.

Sunway Lagoon- A recreation of a sunken mining wasteland. roughly,
80 acres, the theme park is largely water-based with wild adventure
rides and amusement games. Adjacent is a huge shopping and
leisure complex called the Pyramid. Within the park are water-based attractions like giant waterslides, twin speed slides, double twister, wave pool, toboggan, slow river, waterfall garden, Surf Pool, Grand Canyon River Rapids, go on a Buffalo Bill Coaster ride or go speeding down the Colorado Splash, not forgetting the Wild, Wild West theme.. Dry adventure activities such as Ride in Apache Pots, hop on the Flying Carpets, sky riding Galleon, runaway train and a very long pedestrian suspension bridge are also available.
