Freedom
Freedom is something
everyone is seeking. Whether it be the youth of today,
the birds in your back yard, or your very self. The art
of life is to live in the world and with the world and
yet to stay free from its negative influences upon us.
This is why the lotus flower is praised so much. It grows
in dirty stagnant places, and yet it holds its head above
it all and floats on the surface without a worry in the
world. This is the greatest challenge of today; that
amidst the negativity I hold onto my power and keep my
sense of peace.
Real Freedom is about
freeing oneself from one's internal negativity. When
I cannot control my anger, I feel in bondage, this upsets
me further, and I set off a whole chain of other emotions
creating a deeper sense of bondage. Why do most relationships
fail, because of the lack of ability to free one-self
from the inner weaknesses that harass the soul. I am
unable to deal with them and so I project them onto others.
Another trap! Suddenly YOU become my problem. If you
were not in my life, I would be a better person, a happier
person, a kinder person! In fact, no one can free me
from my misery; I have to help myself.
Sometimes the experiences
of the past, do not allow me to fly forward. I get stuck
in analyzing the what, when's, whys of what has already
happened. First thing to acknowledge is that I cannot
change the past. It has already happened. Secondly love
the self for the choices one made in those given moments.
Thirdly, FREE YOURSELF by putting a full stop. If your
conscience is clean clear and you have done all you could,
then truly move on and live like you have never lived.
Real freedom is about
me being honest with myself. Not only honest when asked
but truly living by my higher values. If I can live by
principle then again I am a free soul. When I sacrifice
these in a moment of darkness then my conscience bites
and instead of me being in self-control, I begin to feel
controlled by others. I start pleasing others to 'buy'
some love and respect or at the expense of my own happiness.
The most freeing thought
is to see oneself as an eternal point of light, the spirit,
and the life force. Don't tie yourself in physical limitations
of the physical body; it is just an instrument in which
to play a part. To quote the words of Shakespeare, 'the
world is a stage and we are mere actors'. So see your
life as stage and the soul as an actor and play your
part like no one is watching!
Om Shanti

am a peaceful soul)
