Moments
of Destiny
Part II - Carved in Stone
In part one we saw the
three mistakes we can easily make when we think our destiny
is an outer condition sometime in the future and created
by others. These mistakes arise from the belief that
we are material beings trapped in time and space. When
you realize the very essence of you is spiritual (you
are spirit) then you will also understand why your destiny
is already carved in stone and cannot be avoided.
Throughout your life
you will make many journeys. On each journey you will
go away and come back. Whether its the journey
to work, visiting friends or going on your annual holiday,
in each case you always come home. (traffic permitting!).
And so it is with your spiritual journey called life,
where you make two journeys at the same time. The first
is your journey into this material world. The second
is your journey away from your self.
The beginning of your
spiritual journey is not located in a physical place.
It begins from a state of being, it starts from your
original state of being. What would be the original state
of any spiritual being but the purest and newest state
that of undisturbable peace, unconditional love
and undying joy, all woven together by the purity of
innocence. While you may leave the physical location
of your home it always awaits your return. Similarly,
when you journey away from your original state of love,
peace and joy into the territory of anger, fear and sorrow,
your original state awaits your return. You can never
lose the original attributes of your spirit, of you,
but you do lose awareness of them as you
become disconnected from them within our consciousness.
Hence the saying love does not leave you, you
leave love.
They are always there.
It is the inner presence and the deep memories of their
insperience that motivates your search for
peace, love and happiness in the world around you. This
search is essentially what motivates everything you do.
As you search outside your self you find your self striving,
acquiring and achieving, and in so doing there may be
a temporary peace, fleeting moments of love and the kind
of joy that needs an external fuel. These moments are
real but what you feel is not true peace, love and joy.
It just means you have not yet realized you are looking
in the wrong direction and so you journey further away
from what you essentially are. And yet, in the end, it
must pull you back. In the end you must return to what
you are. Of this you have no choice.
There is nowhere else
to go on your spiritual journey but home to your original
state of being. It is only a question of how easily you
will travel. Some do recognize the truth about the nature
of the self and surrender to that inner truth of what
I am. The moment they do the journey for them will
be relatively smooth. Others will notice they are being
forced to let go of all that is false by
events, circumstances and the changing nature of their
relationships. Their journey will contain the ups and
downs of life, where the ups get shorter and shallower
and the downs become longer and deeper, until they realize
they already have what they seek. And some will be dragged
kicking and screaming back to their original internal
state. Once there everyone realizes there was and is
nowhere else to go and nothing else to do but
be
there! This is the destiny we all share and is set in
stone
metaphorically speaking!
Question: What do you
think of the above text?
Reflection: Love doesnt
leave you but you leave love contemplate the meaning
of this insight
Action: Take a minute,
find a quiet corner, sit and invoke the peace of your
spiritual heart and listen to the pulse of your intention
to love
Om Shanti

am a peaceful soul)
