Motivation
Most days when we awake
we formulate a 'to-do' list whether mentally, or on paper.
Some tasks may be simple, others needing a bit more of
our will and determination. The fact that they have appeared
on our list is proof enough that they are things we REALLY
would like to do, or accomplish. Although there may be
some external factors hindering us from achieving our
'to-dos', internally there is one obstacle that superseded
the external and clouds our ability to see, or seek solutions,
and that is, lack of motivation.
This 'un-empowered'
state, the absence of motivation, is due to a lack of
vision and purpose. The words 'motive' and 'motivate'
imply 'to propel into action', 'to give power'. As such,
we will excel at our 'to-dos' when we understand the
true motive behind what we set out to achieve. If we
are unclear about our intention, we will not be truly
motivated. If our motives are pure, then we move forward
from the heart; if they are impure, we stumble along
with our head, analyzing and weighing from a place of
fear as we over-think the outcome.
Motivation is the breath
of life; without it we die... inside! Ask yourself, with
what motivation you awake every morning to embrace the
day and champion your daily mission?
A spiritual person is
motivated by a very clear sense of purpose and meaning
to their life. What they accomplish is not just for themselves
but will bring benefit to others. It is quite natural
for us to be motivated, or driven, for example our urgency
to help others at a time of need. When we are at peace,
motivation comes naturally. Confusion on the other hand
interferes with that drive! When we start living in this
self empowered state, helping ourselves and others we
become our motivation!
