Nature
We often say that the
best things in life are free and most of all natural.
Nature is so wonderful - serving selflessly, tirelessly,
patiently, abundantly and most of all without prejudice.
Similarly our soul nature is natural also. We are instinctively
stimulated to trust "until proven wrong", to
love, until hurt, and to turn to God for inspiration
at times of need.
One of nature's wonders
is that we have natural light without ever having to
pay any bills! What would we do without the sunshine
in the day and the moon at night? What is darkness if
not simply an absence of light? There would be no life
without a single ray of light. Our bodies would perish
and along with it all the flora and fauna. So too our
soul is in need of 'illumination' each and every day.
Whether we read from the Koran, the Bible or the Gita,
each nourish and comfort the soul. Knowledge turns into
wisdom as soon as we apply it to our lives. Hence every
day expose your self to the "Sun of Knowledge"!
Despite our own disrespect
for the environment nature never stops giving of its
fruits or beauty. It continues to "evolve"
around our own blunders, always there to protect and
sustain. For the tree doesn't eat its own fruit or the
river drink its own water. No, their purpose remains
that of giving to all those around them.
Nature has its own way
of replenishing itself. It is the same for the self.
All that is needed is some time for the self, so that
we always give from a place of fullness. Imagine for
a moment, a world in which each one operates from a place
of plenty, just like nature.
Many ancient cultures
knew and lived in harmony with nature, a wisdom that
"development" blinded us to. Today however,
we are seeing a mass revolution in our understanding
of nature, and "eco development." The average
consumer increasingly seeks out organically grown produce
and natural beauty products.
Like a child, our original
nature is pure, simple and natural. Only when we grow
up and lose our innocence do we pollute our essence.
But it is never too late. In our consciousness, we now
have to shift from simply thinking of becoming whole,
that is complete to also becoming holistic holy
in our approach. Accept our role as co-creators of our
present imbalanced eco-system and start to rediscover
what ancient civilizations honoured and respected, nature.
Reversing the imbalance to our eco-system must start
with first finding our own personal balance, that is,
of mind, body and soul.
