St
Valentines Day
. Freedom to love
St. Valentines
Day is, without a doubt, a day many retail businesses
look forward to as they bank on finding and promoting
new ways for us to express our true love
through products and services. Yet in the face of this
well recognized day for true love many of
us may think it no longer exists as our everyday reality
seems void of its light. Ironically, as this day is so
successful commercially it indicates that our hope to
experience or even witness an expression of true love
remains ignited within a sign that this quality
is innate to us all, deeper than our rational mind.
In our search for true
love we have learned there are different facets to love,
many comparable to our own growing process: our early
years of the awakening of and drive to satisfy our senses
or being totally enraptured by someone, our mid-years
of webs of relationships, and of learning to balance
responsibility, commitment and passion and our later
years where love is about companionship, friendship and
honesty. Even as a society our definition of love has
moved from its romantic era into facing our present-day
harsh reality. Global communication captures and informs
us of such atrocities and acts of violence, leading us
to ask if anyone loves any more.
Now that our search
for love has matured, we engage our hearts and head,
for our journey is one to inner truth. Many embrace spirituality
to aid this inner journey and to uncover their inner
diamond of love as they remember the messages and lives
of their prophet souls: expressions of love. Spirituality
is founded on love. It gives the seeker an opportunity
to learn and experience love of compassion, of humility,
of hope and of self. It calls for us to start facing
and understanding ourselves, for it recognizes that we
are the creators of reality and many drops of pure love
from each of us will stem the tide of such negativity
as lust, greed, anger and jealousy. Spirituality gives
us each an opportunity to share love and, as important,
challenges us to accept love.
We all know love is
not a commodity to be bought but let us not forget that
the real secret to St. Valentines Day success is
our innate quality and call for true love.
So on 14th February celebrate the day by honoring that
inner call and let that feeling of love open your soul
and touch all those around you. Let the experience of
well-being build into a wave so powerful that many are
affected by this very positive and transformative force,
awakening hope and courage to forge a reality where we
will one day live in peace - an expression of pure love.
